Vote for Romney
We need him to win the republican nomination cause he is not electable.
We dont want McCain to win cause he might be able to actually win the white house and we need a democrat..
either Hillary or Obama are better than either of the republicans

I truly believe that McCain will become more moderate if he wins the nomination and steal votes from democrats; especially people who may be borderline redneck and not want a Black man or Woman in the office.

Romney should be easy to beat as long as democrats dont do anything stupid like discounting votes for 2 of states like Flordia and Michigan or anything.

Sorry [livejournal.com profile] rick_day

I just sent this letter to the AJC because of the new ordinance Rick told us about.

Yet again I am amazed at the love our city shows for its voting citizens. The city council recently passed an ordinance basically banning anybody under 21 from being on the premises of a place that serves alcohol. I noticed no ordinance was passed to ban anybody under 21 from getting shot in Iraq. How these laws with obvious age discrimination have remained for so long is beyond rational thought.
We live in an era that by the time a person hits 21 they could have served over 2 full tours of combat duty on foreign shores, only to be welcomed home to a beer they cant drink.
We holler and scream that all of this war protesting is harmful to the morale of our soldiers, but truthfully we care nothing about their morale. We just use them to promote our cause. If we cared, we would buy them a shot and thank them for fighting for us. But instead we ban them from entering bars. Some heroes' welcome home we offer them isn't it?

You ever watch professional wrestling? I remember when I was young and Hulk Hogan was a hero, then suddenly for no apparent reason he turned evil and macho man randy savage was the good guy. Funny it seems that same script has been played out here. all the little America-maniacs around the world are sitting bewildered as to why their hero has turned evil and now we are on the rampage with macho man Russia savage screaming "OH YEAH!" over the cage at us.
I just picture Mr McMahon standing on the Mount Of olives like Jesus with a big microphone coming down from heaven as the cage comes down around the middle east. The royal rumble is about to begin and the free for all melee just sits teetering on the edge waiting for 5 simple words...
and here they come from Mr McMahon himself, "ARE YOU READY TO RUUUUMMMMBBBLLLLLLLEEEEEE?"

...
maybe Shakespeare was right, "all the world IS a stage and we are merely players..." I just never would have thought the script was written by the same people who wrote the professional wrestling scripts.

Sometimes I really do think Shakespeare may have been right that all of the world is a stage. We have found ourselves in a position that could have been seen by anyone, but only written by a writer for a worse than average soap opera.
It seems that most of the bit players almost know it is just a play too, that it isn't real. They blindly drink the Kool-Aid that people need to die, support their murderous leaders and treat this world like a game of Risk. The people dying, on both sides, for what they are told to believe aren't real. They are just plastic chits on a game board.
I think the media in the US is helping this a lot. We are only seeing sanitized pictures. We are not allowed to see the people dying. The men, women and children begging for life with their last breath never get the chance to be heard by the ones who voted to kill them. The frightened child, who just wanted to play in the street, their agony will never be felt by those who voted to end his life. The soldiers whispering a dying, "I love you" to somebody thousands of miles away are never heard by those who voted to send him to die so far away.
Maybe if we were plastered with the real cost of war, instead of these sanitized pictures, just maybe we wouldn’t look at this game quite so flippantly.

**Edit: adding some Cranberries to this because I think seeing this video the other day may have planted the seed for this:

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...
