new letter I sent

Sorry
rick_day
I just sent this letter to the AJC because of the new ordinance Rick told us about.
Yet again I am amazed at the love our city shows for its voting citizens. The city council recently passed an ordinance basically banning anybody under 21 from being on the premises of a place that serves alcohol. I noticed no ordinance was passed to ban anybody under 21 from getting shot in Iraq. How these laws with obvious age discrimination have remained for so long is beyond rational thought.
We live in an era that by the time a person hits 21 they could have served over 2 full tours of combat duty on foreign shores, only to be welcomed home to a beer they cant drink.
We holler and scream that all of this war protesting is harmful to the morale of our soldiers, but truthfully we care nothing about their morale. We just use them to promote our cause. If we cared, we would buy them a shot and thank them for fighting for us. But instead we ban them from entering bars. Some heroes' welcome home we offer them isn't it?
